WELCOME TO THE BUTTERFLY ROOM

4 year olds

Our four-year-old program aims to offer children play based experiences based on their interests, their developmental needs, and their family culture. Our curriculum approach is guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning and Developmental Framework (VEYLDF) which ensures and encourages children to learn through play and social interaction with others.

The framework built upon 5 specific outcomes (Identity, Community, Wellbeing, Learning and Communication) which provides a shared language for us and our families when planning for the children’s learning and development. These outcomes are reflected within the learning experiences we set out each session and guide our vision and purpose.

Our curriculum is intentional and developmentally appropriate. Our educators build on the children’s capacity be curious, to question, to explore, to create and to learn. We encourage and support children in developing relationships, building friendships, developing social skills and supporting the children in their journey through early childhood.

Life skills, such as social competence, resilience & persistence, curiosity and creativity begin in early childhood and they are important considerations when setting up learning experiences both indoors and outdoors here at Bellevue.
Throughout the year the children enjoy participating in incursions and excursions.

The children also take part in a weekly music program over 3 terms.

Sport & Movement program is offered in term 4. This program is run by a specialist teacher who comes to the kindergarten.

We promote and enjoy family participation across all aspects of our curriculum. We have a weekly helping hands roster and also encourage visits from extended family members and friends with specific interests and/or talents to share. The familiar adage it takes a village to raise a child is acknowledged and supported during these events!

We welcome your questions or inquiries and look forward to a rewarding year of play and learning.
